A few problems that have remained persistant over the course of the game (all the way back to vanilla).

Any time a new patch or update releases, my options get completely reset. Every time, I have to remember if it was X or Y axis that I had inverted and it takes a bit of time to figure out which way it actually was that doesnt feel wierd. Generally setting up all of my key binds gets extremely tedious and irritating. Somehow, my achievements remain, thankfully.

Within the online lobby, it says that there are X number of players on, but I cannot see anyone in any of the lobbies.  Oddly enough they can see me and communicate with me.

Now, upon writing this, I've forgotten many of the issues that have plagued me (many have actually gotten resolved over time).  I'll have to play through a full game with some friends in order to remember, but those two above were what I remembered and tested just now.

I have Win7 64Bit and it keeps crashing!! Any ideas? Even on WinVista 32Bit it crashed a hell of a lot, this has been an ongoing issue!

I have version 1.05 and it refuses to download a new patch.  I just purchased both expantions but cannot install them without patching the game first.  This is getting ridiculous.  I have had it with Impulse.  It takes me weeks to just get the darn game installed and they are getting worse with every title.

Verkinix: I'm not sure why your settings get reset, but you can try backing up your settings files before you update, just as a precaution.  In Vista/7, they're in C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting and unfortunately I don't have XP at home, so if you need that, let me know, and I can look it up when I get to work tomorrow.  As for the lobby, I'd recommend contacting support@ironcladgames.com for help with that, as they're the keepers of the online bits.

AoD GrImReaper: Send support@stardock.com an email, and we'll see if we can figure out why.

surrender monkey: Please do the following within Impulse:

-Click the blue menu button in the upper left
-Choose 'Preferences...'
-Click the 'Reset Data' button
-Close impulse and relaunch it. You may notice a long update time, which is normal as it is rebuilding the deleted info.

And if all else fails, support@stardock.com for you, too.

Hello,

There are several ways that our customers can retrieve their software and licenses that they have purchased.  Keep in mind that trial versions of our software are not upgradable to the full versions by entering a product key, and they must be uninstalled and the PC rebooted before installing the full version of any app.  Here are the possible options (NOTE: Not all applications are available under each option):

1.) Go to https://www.stardock.com/support  , enter your e-mail address to have your product info sent to you.

2.) If you have a Stardock.net account, visit the following site and click the link for the appropriate application/theme: https://www.wincustomize.com/myaccount.aspx?reg

3.) I would highly suggest using Impulse to download and install any of our applications. Impulse is our new product distribution platform that will be replacing Stardock Central. Impulse will give you the ability to resume downloads, as well as notify you when updates are available, and prompt to update.  Impulse will also automatically activate any of our products you install.

You may download Impulse here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe .  Once Impulse is installed it will give you the option to create a Stardock.net account if you haven't already.  If you already have an account, but forgot the password, Impulse also will give you the option to retrieve your account information.  Once you've logged in, and Impulse finishes any additional updates needed, you can now go under the appropriate tab in Impulse and select your product and click 'Install' to install it.

If you bought your software directly through the Stardock or Impulse store, the registrations will be added automatically into Impulse.  If you have a retail bought title and need to register, click on the help icon in the upper right of the Impulse interface (the one that looks like a blue circle with a question mark) and select "Register a product with Impulse".  Once on the registrations page, in the bottom right, click the 'Add Registration' button.  In the Window that appears, enter your serial number (Remember all serials use letters A-F and numbers 0-9.  Dashes in the serial number are important and must be included), followed by your e-mail you used to create your Stardock.net account, the product category and the product name (If you serial is recognized, these last 2 will be auto filled).  Click 'Add Registration' button and you've registered your product.  This will register the software to your account, and get you the latest updates to your product, as well as keep track of the serial number if you ever need to install again.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.
Hello,

Please try the following:

-For VISTA/7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.
For XP Users: Click Start and then Run, Type 'cmd' and hit enter.
-VISTA ONLY: If UAC is enabled, click 'Continue'
-Type: sfc /scannow
-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)
-When the scan has completed, it should give you some feedback as to the result

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 and I run the game with no issues.  I run it at highest resolution all around for around 3 hours at a time for the past 3 days and haven't had a single problem.   Also, I updated the game with no ill effects.

Have you tried reinstalling and repairing damaged files?
